In 1999, Pat and Mark Andrews registered Heartland Research Corporation as a Florida Non-Profit Corporation. A short time later, Heartland received a 501c3 designation.

 

As grandparents, the Andrews were concerned when they saw thousands of young people becoming innocent victims of parents and government embracing activities and businesses glorifing destructive behaviors for tax revenue, health benefits or entertainment.  Believing that research and education would enlighten citizens hearts and minds to choose intelligently when confronted with millions of dollars of deceptive ads and mailers, the Andrews have dedicated their lives to exposing the dark side of these behaviors.
